Think Tank Creative
“This is the worst piece of shit I have ever seen”
Design retrospectives are in no way meant to be seen as the achievements between artist skill and showcasing clever ideas. Using graphical imagery as an aesthetic tool between product, exhibition and critique. The forty-three essays I have genuinely crafted over the past two years represent a monumental process towards embracing life challenges while adapting to unknown terrain.
These DIY creative confrontations, while some may seem ridiculous, tech savvy, eloquently abstract using Gonzo journalism are fundamental building blocks. Furthermore, these essays are meant to be seen as a creative exercise in critical thinking, ethical start-up culture, fine art practice and the culture of web design. If you have been following @artJournal, this basic concept should be crystal clear by now.
This week we are showcasing ten portfolio designs, which followed each essay we published between 2013-2014. A monumental feast in visual design covering ideas, workflows, and design best practices projects series. ( L.O.P)
Art Journal is the brainchild behind Creative Think Tank DC | #CTTDC.
We are a small design incubator, working across interdisciplinary diverse skills across web design, tech consulting and creative fine art media. Our clients, projects and visual design showcase is a clear indication behind our culture, values and beliefs. We are only interested in working with creative, innovative thinkers within our local group. And even as most of you who do read the publication have chanted in the past: “The new Avant-Garde is silence.”
We leave you this week, with a candid conversation between two contemporary thinkers. On the subject between space time, relativity and moments in time..
“Beauty in not what is simply perceived its made of the shadows amongst snarling sun beams. Its made of impossible moments called chance, its made of a brief glance, a moment that does not deduct but thoroughly enhanced. When the terror hits, you smile and join the fray and never forfeit. As your thoughts eclipse, you committed to no side, your just there to embrace the luminous tide. I promise the skies will open thorough, and its your guise in which you’ll burrow
So the idea of beauty, chance and time are interconnected?. Great insight Apex76, We encounter beauty via a random moment, lets say the gaze of a beautiful gal. We are informed via our senses, thus a cerebral synapse is made. We can call that perception via retinal output. Then, finally, we have arrived at your “embrace the luminous tide” concept idea.
Your experiences are always fantastic my friend. They feed my imagination.
We are all warriors of the moment, Einstein was one of the greatest artist, once he deduced time and space are calculable then relative then that sun beam and kiss and hug is definable through a certain degree. Its immersed in mass and time and if by a split second I was some where else then chances are I wouldn’t be what I am, so I nose dive in the moment my friend,
Life in not simply a narrative, is a living moment, there is no narrative here.
Beauty and chance are different speeds of the same light beam. They will catch up to one another….thats when you get the thou moment, and you start to float!!
Yes, the living moment ultimately becomes a narrative. Not in the abstract nature of time. But in the afterthought, always chasing the moment. Lets called that history. And if beauty and chance are parallel particles within our cosmic galactic conversation. Were then all floating simultaneously my friend. In one infinite loop of cosmic wanderings, infused within the realms behind string theory.
So no one is greater than the next, all we are is subtle abstractions of each other. I learned this early in my youth…I am you, you are me.. we don’t know it yet. And yes, brother we are the infinite loop. We are me in the word time. And yes brother we are the infinite loop, we are me in the word time.
Why I call you brother, you are more than a mere refraction or reflection, I am your possibility and you are mine, Joseph Campbell, improvises, quotes Schopenhauer: “This is a break through of a metaphysical realization that you and the other are one. And that the separateness is only an effect of the temporal forms of sensibility of time and space. And true reality is in that unity of all life. The other need not be humanoid, I found the thou principle in all things from flies, dogs, though Im specially prone to dogs, hehe.
The idea is to think about it in terms of conciseness right? As Alan Watts has gracefully chanted and you have pointed this fact several time. Where does the air stops and continues when we leave a room. Experience via our senses, thus consciousness is formed around our experiences. The key, which we miss is to be in the moment.
Inevitably we all die, and some night think its how we die that matters… no! its how we live, it is a simple enough equation but few can break the mathematics behind it..
