Making A Case For Kobe

Gonzo Stores,

In Conversation With

Michael Clark Duncan,

Kobe Bryant is perhaps the most influential basketball player in the post-Michael Jordan era. He is arguably the closest to Jordan in scoring, titles, most valuable player awards and all star game appearances. As the NBA season rolls in, Kobe will have surpassed Jordan for the number 3 spot in leading all time scoring at the end of the 2015 season. Currently, Jordan holds an impressive 32,292 points while “The Black Mamba” slowly creeps up the latter at 31,838 (and counting). The strategy for Kobe this NBA season (2014-2015) is clearly a shoot at passing Michael in scoring, as LA tries to rebuilt around him. Or, perhaps take a deep dive behind the meaning of his legacy and attempt to chase a six title with Melo for the NY Knicks next year. A daily conversational altar piece with splendid expletives and bathroom humor, compliments of Mr.Natural.  “Mr.Michael Clark Duncan”  is a wonderful “MC Hammer Daddy” retro dude who enjoys chatting about Basketball, in an aggressive loud manner.  Which Mr.Natural does enjoy the conversational ping balls, back-and-forth.

Banalities In Disguised,

Conventional wisdom from everything we can gather on Kobe based on his character including a  complete dedication to LA. Among the top five Lakers of all time:

  1. Chamberlain
  2. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
  3. Jerry West
  4. Kobe
  5. Magic

IMHO,

Points for retirement wearing a Laker uniform.

A super star who can carry the team to victory during an impressive three back-to-back championships +  another two-back-to-back rings, only second to Jordan.  A feast Lebron, KD, Howard, Paul, Tim Duncan and even Melo have yet to accomplish. However, the idea behind Kobe  coming to the Garden is honestly pie in the sky abstractions as there is little evidence to indicate he would ever make the move.

Moving on, we can arguably see why there are some of you who might wonder the reasons behind Kobe leaving LA for NY. Well, for one a reunion with his “Yoda”master of basketball gods in Phil Jackson and “Obi Wan Kenobi” in head coach Derrick Fisher of course. A one two punch combination as Shack would probably say between Melo and Kobe inside the triangle would be magical to see. With perhaps a deep player roster caliber bench, they could possibly bring a Championship title to the big Apple.

Some might wonder if Tim Duncan deserves a mentioned in the conversation for best player in the post-Jordan era. Duncan is perhaps the  best power power forward I have ever seen play the game other than Charles Barkley. Duncan is a forth runner but falls shorts in my opinion due to how he obtain his championship rings. Over time in a gradual pace in San Antonio, allowing him the ability to work on his game without any real pressure other than last year when the expectation to beat Miami began to mount during the playoffs.

Next Steps

PS. | A small  note from the editor,

its nice to see the jackhammering has finally stopped after we ran a pithy letter on our FAN PAGE. It would be nice if some of you would at least “like” the bloody thing. Cheers,
